Powerlogix dual 800, 1Ghz and
1.2 ghz for the Cube coming soon!
Yes you read correctly! Powerlogix will
sell a dual 1.2 ghz card for the Cube in the near
future. that is what Robert Jagitsch, president of
Powerlogix, told us today. Here is what he said, when
we asked for an update about the DC board and the
dual cards :
"We have come up with an optimized
method that allows the use of the standard Apple DC/DC
card, so that card will not need replacing. We expect
the duals for Cube to be available by the end of January".
Contrary to what was said before, Powerlogix won't
make a replacement DC board for the Cube. They will
apparently use a new method with the retail Cube DC
board....
Asked about the speed of the soon to
be released cards, Robert answered : "Yes,
we intend to be able to offer dual 800 and faster
for Cube, including 1.2GHz."
That's great news !!!!

Inflatable speakers : the ultimate
portable speakers.
If you're looking for a great Christmas
present, you should take a look at the Inflatable
speakers. They are unique for two reasons, one
being that they are fully inflatable, you need to
blow them up to tune in and secondly, they can be
collapsed completely for travelling. Each set of speakers
includes an amplifier, a battery back and a AC adapter.
The Inflatable Speakers can be used in connection
with various pieces of equipment, including most Personal
CD Players, Personal stereos, MP3 players and Mini
Discs and are PC and Mac compatible. Excellent for
the office at home or on the move as their compact
size when deflated, means carrying them in your luggage
is not too bulky, perfect for meetings and business
trips. There are seven different kinds of inflatable
speakers. Those speakers are not USB (they cannot
be directly used with the Cube, but since we find
them funny, we decided to post an article about them...)

Archos Ondio : competition for
the iPod.
Archos has launched a new product :
the Ondio.
The Ondio is a MP3 player with a 128 MB Flash memory
(2 hours of MP3 music at 128 kbps, 3 hours of radio
recording at 96 kbps, 4.3 hours of voice recording
at 64 kbps or 128MB of data).
The Ondion allows you to record from
the radio into MP3. You can record your favorite songs
from the Ondio built-in FM tuner into MP3, just as
easily as you would do with a cassette deck. For radio
recording the Archos Ondio is equipped with a 30-second
retro-record buffer. This allows you to record complete
songs even if you press the record button after the
song has started! It also enables you to edit your
recordings once they are registered.
